Much like the famous Caractacus Potts from the beloved film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (a staple of Christmas festivities), the Swizzels Matlow brand came from humble beginnings selling from a market stall in East London.
Starting with gummy candies and then branching out into fizzy sweets this brand quickly found its special niche. Most famous for gracing/plaguing the world with Parma Violets (depending on how you feel), the relatively new Squashies and of course not to forget the smash hit Love Hearts, this British company has created many childhood retro favourites. They are so embedded within British culture they have created special editions of their sweets to celebrate everything from the Royal family to One Direction! While they may not have invented the “toot sweet”, they certainly brought the same amount of fun!
